Fobbed off

I never got to see this gift as I had it shipped directly to my daughter for her birthday. She phoned and thanked me profusely for such a lovely present and said how delighted she was with it. Did she mean it? Was I just being fobbed off by a kind and loving daughter, too gentile to say it was rubbish and she dropped it straight in the bin? I shall probably never really know. .But I have to take her unwritten word for it that it was truly lovely and the sentiment thereon expressed was appreciated.
