A watch that was bought to be 'watched'

I didn't buy a Belsen watch as a time-piece; I already had three wrist-watches and six digital clocks in my house. No: I bought it because it was a beautiful piece of machinery. It operates unfalteringly, smoothly. It is lovely to see those tiny gears recording the passage of time; so much more meaningful to me than the flipping of digits on an electronic display.
